You have probably never heard of Stanislav Petrov, but you owe him your life.

Shortly after midnight on 26th September 1983, a Soviet early warning radar detected what were thought to be incoming American nuclear missiles. Petrov’s decision not to retaliate prevented the beginning of World War III, the deaths of millions of people and quite, possibly, the end of life on Earth.

“The U.K. Gold” Film Screening

Described by the Guardian as “the kind of film to get the blood boiling and steam hissing out of your ears” The U.K. Gold is a new award-winning documentary exploring global tax-dodging through the eyes of an east London vicar.

There will be a free screening at Venue B, Our Place, Hope Park, Liverpool Hope University, Taggart Avenue, L19 9JD at 7:30pm on Thursday 21st November.
