Gather 10.45am for 2 minutes silence at 11am. And to lay wreath of white poppies in memory of all victims of all wars worldwide.

Introductions: Gerry Poole With verse readings and dedications by members of local peace groups marking our sorrow for the thousands of lives lost in wars since the end of World War 1 Never Again.

Why South Korean peace activists walked into a prison on their own feet.

Yeo-ok Yang and Jungmin Choi, activists of World Without War, and Reverend Bora Im of Hyanglin Church were put into prison on May 20.

They were sentenced to pay a fine of two million won each (approximately 2,000 USD) for taking a direct action to block the construction of Jeju Naval Base, which had been illegally undertaken without an agreement with local residents…visit War Resisters’ International website to read more.

Conscientious Objectors’ Day

Thursday 15th May will mark Internation Conscientious Objectors’ Day. Merseyside C.N.D. will join together with Liverpool Quakers to commemorate the moral stance taken by all those who refused to fight in wars. We’ll be handing out white Peace Poppies and leaflets from 11am – 3pm outside the Bluecoat on School Lane.

Pax Christi’s Ash Wednesday Anti-Drones Service at Liverpool University

On Wednesday 5th March members of Pax Christi gathered from across Merseyside at the University of Liverpool for its Ash Wednesday Service to protest the University’s continuing research into miltary drones.
