Peace activists target the Giants
Liverpool’s ‘Memoirs of August 1914’ Giants Parade which will take place over the weekend of 25-27th July has attracted the attention of local peace campaigners who, under the umbrella of Merseyside Peace Network are planning their own events.
During the parade held to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War peace corners will be set up where people can meet and talk about the issues involved.
Members of the public interested in the peace corners are invited to join members of the network on Friday at 7.30pm near St Francis of Assisi School in the city’s Newsham Park and on Saturday at noon outside Liverpool’s UNITE union building in Islington.
People attending are asked to wear white as a visual tribute to the peacemakers.
