On Tuesday 24th May CND will be marking International Women’s Day for Disarmament by holding a Women’s Peace Camp at the US spy base Menwith Hill, near Harrogate.

The base continues to be integral part of US warfighting having won awards for its part in the Gulf War and is involved in the current conflict in Libya. It is also an important installation in the dangerous US Missile Defense system as a satellite monitoring station. This work continues despite the deep cuts to the public sector both here and in the US.
CND would like to invite women to join us at the camp where there will be a peace picnic, speakers and a tour of the base. There will be transport available from Harrogate railway station.
